Refractions dot dot dot examines the ways in which projections inherent in familiar relationships prevent us from seeing ourselves or each other with any clarity. An abstract and deconstructed visual narrative is juxtaposed with sinuous images of my brothers holding me minutes after I was born. These images move from black and white into full color, though the color distorts the clarity. Hand-written text anchors the images, providing a smatter of context for the patterning and projections in familial socialization.
